Dieting on Vacation

I’ve been on vacation for two weeks and I’ve gained four pounds. HOLY COW! That’s two-pounds-a-week! After much contemplation, I figured out that I’ve made three mistakes.

First, I haven’t prayed before eating. For some strange reason, I don’t eat nearly as much if I pray and ask for help. (I’m pretty sure it’s God’s who is helping me.)

Second, I’ve been eating too much gluten, corn, sugar, and deep fried foods, all of which cause weight gain. A little is okay once in a while, but I’m a food-loving, food addict, so defining “a little” is like defining life. Avoiding those foods altogether would be a better choice, then I can have a life without having to define it.

Third, I haven’t been weighing myself, a task not easy to do when on vacation. Instead, I’m going to get a tape measure and measure the “main three,” my chest, waist, and hips. If I’m gaining inches, I’m gaining weight.
