Update on my vacation weight:

I finally got a tape measure. I’ve gained 2 1/2 inches, mostly in my tummy. I don’t look pregnant, but it looks like a bad case of gas. I’m wishing a nice fart would make it go away.

On the bright side, I ate well and stuck to my diet today. I had an early lunch with my high-school buddies at the Olive Garden. I had the soup and salad, but managed to push away the bread sticks. Wasn’t easy, but proud of myself.

Later I had dinner at Wendy’s with one of my besties. Chili without crackers and no cheese. It’s almost bedtime and I’m hungry. Fruit and almond butter. That’s it. Thanks for stopping by.

Dieting on Vacation

I’ve been on vacation for two weeks and I’ve gained four pounds. HOLY COW! That’s two-pounds-a-week! After much contemplation, I figured out that I’ve made three mistakes.

First, I haven’t prayed before eating. For some strange reason, I don’t eat nearly as much if I pray and ask for help. (I’m pretty sure it’s God’s who is helping me.)

Second, I’ve been eating too much gluten, corn, sugar, and deep fried foods, all of which cause weight gain. A little is okay once in a while, but I’m a food-loving, food addict, so defining “a little” is like defining life. Avoiding those foods altogether would be a better choice, then I can have a life without having to define it.

Third, I haven’t been weighing myself, a task not easy to do when on vacation. Instead, I’m going to get a tape measure and measure the “main three,” my chest, waist, and hips. If I’m gaining inches, I’m gaining weight.
